The Yellow Brick Road Marketing System

Most Marketing Systems Are Built Backwards

Let’s be honest…

Most gym owners are so focused on getting more leads, they build their entire marketing system from the front traffic, lead magnet, ads, etc.

But what if I told you that’s exactly where things start to fall apart?

Because when you build your business front-to-back, all you’re doing is pouring more people into a leaky bucket, and guess what?

That means more stress, more sales pressure, and more wasted time chasing the wrong kind of clients.

The Real Problem: You’re Scaling Chaos

Think about it…

You’re spending time, money, and energy to generate leads  but your back-end systems aren’t set up to keep those clients long enough to make it all worthwhile.

Consults don’t convert.

Clients ghost after the front-end offer.

You’re scrambling to fill slots every month.

So what do most people do? They panic and try to throw even more leads into the system. Yikes!

It’s like trying to get fit by eating more protein bars while still bingeing pizza every night  it doesn’t fix the real problem.

The Yellow Brick Road System

At FBDA, we coach our clients to flip the script.

Instead of building from the front (ads → lead magnets → follow-up), we go back to front.

Why?

Because when you start at the end  with your long-term MRR clients  and work backwards, every system you put in place is designed to support real business growth.

This is what we call your Yellow Brick Road.

And it’s not just a cute name. It’s a proven process for creating a business that actually retains, converts, and scales the right way.

Step-by-Step But Back To Front: The Smart Way to Build a Marketing System

Here’s how we think about it:

  1. Start with your MRR clients.

Are they staying long enough? Are you maximising their lifetime value? If not, fix this first otherwise, every lead you bring in is just a short-term sugar hit.

  2. Trust builder phase / Front-End Offer (FEO).

How are you building relationships and showing your value before asking for a big commitment? This is HUGE!

  3. Consultation process.

Are your consults structured to build trust and prescribe the best path or are they just awkward sales chats? How can you improve this to build better and deeper connections with your prospects.

  4. Pre-qualification.

Are they ready, willing and able?  If they are not you may be wasting time, best to pre-qualify them ahead of time

  5. Follow-up system.

What happens after someone opts in? Is there a real journey, most of your clients will come from here.  I kid you not, your best clients will be in this list.

  6. Lead Magnets.

Do you have them? Are they attracting the right people, or just bloating your email list with dead weight?

  7. Traffic Sources.

Only now once the entire system is tight do we start scaling your traffic with organic, paid, and referrals.

You can have 100 leads per month, but if they’re walking into a broken system, you’ll be stuck in sales jail forever.

Score Each Part of Your Yellow Brick Road

This is the exact system we get our clients to audit and score.

We look at each stage  from traffic to trust to lifetime value  and find the leaks that are costing you time, money, and energy.

Now, I won’t break down the whole scoring system here (that’s reserved for our coaching clients), but…

If you know your current system has some cracks  and you’re serious about fixing them  then we’d love to help.

You Don’t Need 100s of Leads

When you get this right…

✅ You don’t need to chase every lead.

✅ You stop wasting hours on consults that go nowhere.

✅ You attract better-fit clients who stay longer, spend more, and refer others.

More isn’t better.

Better is better.

And the Yellow Brick Road System is how you build better.
